Over the years, Shida has become a force within high-end hospitality design, now launching Customs Bureau after over a decade at world-renowned interior design firm, Yabu Pushelberg.
Shida’s ethos stems from the human, quotidian experience, evoking emotion through the spaces she curates and designs. Her designs take a humanistic approach, considering the user-experience in every feature, while also looking at how to uniquely respond to each aspect of the client’s vision.
Shida takes the conceptual design process and individualises it, thus creating well-thought-out, intimate and highly bespoke projects for her clients.
It is her attention to detail and consideration for the client’s distinctive standpoint that enables Shida to work with some of the most exclusive and highly sought-after brands, from the Four Seasons to Aman.
As Founding Principal & Creative Director, Shida leads all Customs Bureau projects across the North American, European and Middle Eastern markets.

As Customs Bureau Managing Principal, Simon brings a business and project management rigour to the team that ensures smooth and timely delivery of your projects.
Cindy has a wealth of experience working on projects in the UK, Europe, and MENA regions, crafting spaces that seamlessly blend luxury, functionality, and artistic vision. Her diverse background spans across architecture and interior design across luxury hotel and residential projects.
As a Senior Associate at Customs Bureau, she brings invaluable insights to the studio and its collaborators, driven by her attention to detail and creative design thinking. She leads the design of luxury hotel and residential projects with a focus in crafting cohesive, experience-driven spaces. Guided by a philosophy of simplicity and precision, Cindy approaches design with a strong conceptual vision, technical expertise, and a refined sensitivity to form, space, and light.
At a time where the hyperphysical and new digital worlds are changing our experience of space, we are a team of arbiters and curators unified in the belief that true luxury isn’t about names or numbers, but a deep care and holistic consideration.
From spaces to scenery, sight to smell, seating to silverware: We are experts in moment-to-moment experience curation informed by a culturally-broad and industry-specific understanding of emerging art, design, style and culinary trends from around the world.
